Biographical Counselling is a process of understanding and exploring
a person’s struggles and challenges in the context of his/her
biography.
The philosophy underlying biographical counselling upholds every
person as a being of body, soul and spirit on a path of development
through life.
Times of crisis and difficulties are embraced as holding the key
to further personal growth and development. Through its holistic
approach biographical counselling is adding an important perspective
to the counselling process and to the profession at large.
Biographical Counselling is based on the work of the Austrian scientist
and philosopher Dr. R. Steiner. His work is known worldwide as Anthroposophy,
derived from the Greek ‘Anthro’ = man and ‘Sophia’
= wisdom. His knowledge and insights have influenced many fields
of life such as medicine, architecture, education, agriculture as
well as the arts and social realm.
